The development of TOBS has been started by Christian Massone and Patrick Waldschmidt at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern. In March 2006 both students had to realize a project in the course "Media Conception and Production". They decided to work at a project concerning the topic filesharing network. After four month of development time the first stable Version TOBS 0.2 has been released in July 2006.
2006/07 - Torrent Observer Plugin provides two main functionalities. First of all it is able to give Information about the torrent list of people downloading as the same torrents as the own ones. Further more it provides a Visualisation of the Network of the Tobs Plugin Users.

the TOBS logo
The TOBS logo shows you the planet earth, the azureus logo and many computer users around the world. It means that TOBS visualizes azurus bittorrent networks and relationhips around the world.
the favorite system
First of all the TOBS plugin must be started by selecting the menu option Plugins/TOBS. The Information of the torrents of the actual Down-/Upload List will automatically be send to the TObs Server and displayed in the Torrent List. By selecting a Torrent the Plugin will display all the files Users have downloaded that have also downloaded the selected file. Further more it’s shown how many users download this file.
